You may have seen this already, but looking on that Hathor Legacy site I came across this which I think is Brilliant!
All I knew about the original song was that the aim was something like getting a popular song to the top of the charts with a swear word in it (even though there’s a censored version, which sort of weakens the whole point, but whatever). And I though, oh that’s cool I suppose.
But then I saw the video, and just…what the fuck?! So this girl snubs you, and so you make it your life mission to become rich and successful (because that’s all a girl wants). And now you have a shitload of money, you’re famous, and even though you don’t like her because she was a gold-digger, you now have 3 women with you (who I’m sure love you for you) and it’s all great because now she’s a street cleaner and you can tell her to Fuck off!
Wait..WHY IS SHE A STREET CLEANER?! How did that happen?!
I’m sure the realism of this story isn’t what he was going for but it really bugs me for some reason. I guess if the song ended with her marrying a billionaire, and not remembering or caring who he was as she didn’t give a shit in high school, it wouldn’t be as poignant.
“Oh! You’re that guy who spilled chips on me in that diner! Whelp, I’m off to the Maldives for the weekend. See you!”
